The goal of The Studio is to provide a place where each
student can discover and develop his/her creative capacity for learning. Each
person is encouraged to set and reach for challenging goals, and to work
toward them in a shared environment.
We are a small community of learners, supporting one
another through honest respectful relationships. Within our shared
commitment to build a peaceful, positive and enthusiastic community, we
value differences in cultural and faith backgrounds, interests and
perspectives.
We expect and need clear demonstrative willingness to
invest, engage, work, practice, help and follow through, as willing and active
participants,
bringing a whole presence (physical, thoughtful, spiritual) to individual
and group instruction and activities.
With willingness, we can represent a variety of ages,
skill levels and gifts, in a happy and growing community. In our
society of rapid change, imposed pressures and myriad options, The Studio
upholds intrinsic human values that give each person time, calm and
reassurance in the process of self-discovery.
We are eager to learn from you, and consider expanding
our circle. The questions on the following pages have been designed by
students and staff as a way for your family to describe some of your
interests, needs, gifts and values.
In admissions, hiring and
operations, the Board and The Studio will not discriminate in race, color,
religion, national
or ethnic origin, disability,
gender, sexual orientation, age or any other inequitable way.
